Quoted from their website…

“She’Koyokh is a Yiddish expression meaning “nice one!”. We are a London-based, eight-piece ensemble performing songs, folk tunes and wedding dances from practically every Eastern European country you can think of. We formed in 2001, playing klezmer music – the Jewish wedding music of Eastern European communities. We soon became fascinated by Gypsy music and folk music of the Balkans, travelling to Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece to study with master musicians. We are enjoying a busy year playing concerts, UK and European festivals, weddings and parties, and were particularly excited to be nominated for ‘Best Group’ in the Songlines  World Music Awards 2012. Read all about it on ARC Music.”
